Letting students teach each other: A combined General/Organic Chemistry experience

Abstract

This talk will discuss lessons learned from a teaching experiment at a small PUI. For one day in two different semesters, Organic Chemistry students were put in charge of teaching small groups of General Chemistry students. Transferring control of teaching to students can be daunting and we will discuss the pros and cons of such a method, including reinforcement of previous knowledge, logistics, and what to do with misinformation and misconceptions.
